The director of exploration and mining projects of Sistan and Baluchistan announced the successful completion of the first blasting operation of Janja copper and gold mine.

According to MiMetals, Mustafa Molavi stated: The first blasting operation in the Janja copper and gold mine, with the preparation of 28 thousand cubic stripping, was successfully carried out last week.

Excavation operation

He continued: Since the beginning of the executive operation in Janja mine, more than 800 thousand cubic meters of earthworks and material transfer have been carried out, which will be increased to 7 million cubic meters annually during the preparation period on average with fire blasting operations and the arrival of new machinery.

Molavi emphasized: The volume of stripping operations will be around 20 million cubic meters within three years.

Project employment

He continued: With the launch of the mine since the end of July this year, more than 160 people have been working, of which 80% of the people are in the technical and labor fields and machine operators from the native forces of Sistan region. The director of exploration and mining projects of Sistan and Baluchistan stated: With the increase in the number of machines and the volume of mining activities, the number of workers in this mine will increase by about two times.

He pointed out: Janja copper and gold mine is located in the north of Sistan and Baluchistan province and in Nimroz city, and a project with the annual concentrate production capacity of 130,000 tons is being implemented. The investor of the plan is a consortium consisting of the largest mining companies of the country.
